Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go” - Jamie Anderson |
Grief is an expression of loss. It is the place we are in need of going to when we have lost something or someone important to us. It occurs after a death, an abandonment, a break up, job loss, a major life change, etc. It is a painful, useful, and sometimes beautiful process. Grief is the process of learning to transform loss into a new way of being. After a big loss we're never the same. Getting acquainted with who you are now is one of the biggest gifts you can give yourself.
Grief can be disorienting and sometimes feel hopeless. I am here to help you navigate the tides of grief and loss, and to help you to integrate this new way of being. Note that I don't say "get over the loss." I don't believe we get over loss. I believe we learn how to incorporate it into our narrative. If we allow ourselves to make grief conscious we can create space for claiming newness rather than being claimed by it. |
